The moment was all
wrapped up in his face.
The sad details stating
some part of him had
grown up while I wasn't
looking.   His secrets found,
now, only in photographs.

while the prairies broke
open upon themselves

For Such Beasts
their stealth amazes me
creeping from the fog
leaving dragon scales
as a hint of their slumbering power

...the Rockies


the soundtrack for which starts with
Pink Floyd's - Goodbye Blue Sky
goes full Alvin Lee during the rainy sections
mellows with some CCR and a couple Van Morrison tracks
then gets progressively psychedellic with some old school Talking Heads and 10 Years Later

(you may want to throw The Pusher in there somewhere from SteppenWolf)

That second thing is one of my favourite things you've ever written. The other two sections I weren't so big on...but OH, the prairies! :faint:

haha! yeah... i started a new notebook for my traveling adventures, and so far the only thing in there is that prarie poem. there's something e(i?)ntirely sad and haunting but vastly beautiful about them.
